The new QuickMode™ and HD Notify features will be available on existing RCN service powered by TiVo®, a hybrid system for people who want both cable and streaming shows. The new features will be rolled out to all of RCN’s markets by the end of January 2016, including Boston, Chicago, Lehigh Valley (PA), New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
QuickMode offers customers with a six tuner DVR the ability to watch their recordings in My Shows, and cached content on live TV, 30 percent faster than normal. Users can watch shows in less time and control how they want to consume their content without distorted audio, enabling viewers to enjoy their favorite shows and still have time for other things.
HD Notify allows HD customers to immediately see if the program they are watching is available in HD. The feature will automatically jump to that channel with the simple touch of a button, thus cutting down on search and scroll times.
