Watertree Health Reports Year-End 2015 Social Responsibility Results
Destin, Florida (PRWEB) January 20, 2016 -- Watertree Health®, founded to make health care products and services more accessible to all people in America, reported today on its 2015 social responsibility goals.
The Company launched its free Prescription Discount Card in late 2011 to help the tens of millions of people in America without adequate prescription coverage. While Watertree Health’s mission is to help individuals improve their lives by improving their cycle of health, the overarching goal is to service local communities.
Prescription savings and donations to strategic health-related nonprofit partners are the Company’s key metrics of social responsibility. In 2015, Watertree Health surpassed its $70 million goal and saved cardholders $84 million on prescription costs, representing a growth of 62% versus the prior year. With recent reports of the continuing rise of out-of-pocket prescription costs and consumers finding it more and more difficult to pay for their vital medicines, the Company places particular importance on this metric.
Shane Power, Watertree Health President explains, “Service is built into the DNA of our culture. We believe that everyone should be able to improve their health, and our team of national ‘Service Representatives’ have committed themselves to helping those in need.”
To produce a ripple effect within local communities, Watertree Health has structured its nonprofit partnerships so that when someone saves money on their prescription, a donation is triggered for the local nonprofit partner.
In 2015, the Company’s goals were to donate $300,000 to Make-A-Wish® and help grant two wishes per month. Power’s team dramatically surpassed its goals, and donated $530,000 that helped grant 43 wishes in just 16 local chapters. Watertree Health also exceeded its 2015 goals for their 15 local Food Bank partners —$165,000 in donations versus $140,000, providing almost one million meals versus goal of 750,000.
Shane states, “These stats are our internal report card on how we’re furthering our mission, and our partnerships with nonprofits are a big part of that effort. Since our Prescription Discount Card was introduced about four years ago, we have helped people struggling to pay for their prescriptions save almost $165,000,000. In about two years, we have donated $645,000 to Make-A-Wish and helped fund 54 wishes in just 16 local chapters, and donated over $300,000 to our 15 local Food Bank partners to help provide over 1.8 million meals.”
