Wavecrest Computing Announces the New Release of CyBlock SSL Inspection
Melbourne, Flordia (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- Wavecrest Computing is pleased to announce the release of a major enhancement in the new version of CyBlock. The new SSL (HTTPS) Inspection feature allows CyBlock to decrypt, analyze, and fully inspect all HTTPS traffic. In order to defeat security threats facing companies today, the capability of SSL Inspection is critical.
More than ever before, organizations are using Web-enabled applications that involve the use of personal, private, and sensitive data. HTTPS encryption is being increasingly used to protect the confidentiality of sensitive business data, such as payroll, banking, and self-service purchasing or invoicing portals, on the Web. Surveys show 25%-35% of enterprise traffic is SSL-encrypted, and the number can be as high as 70% in specific industries. HTTPS encryption is the most cost-effective way of protecting the privacy of this sensitive traffic. Without proper management, HTTPS can leave a gap in any organization's security design.
Wavecrest’s SSL Inspection feature is a new value-added, security enhancement incorporated into CyBlock. The SSL Inspection feature will enable CyBlock to analyze encrypted (HTTPS) employee Web traffic. This in turn will help organizations better identify and defeat security threats. If necessary, specific standard and/or custom URL categories can be exempted from the inspection process. Traffic that “passes inspection” will be promptly forwarded to the Web. Traffic that does not pass inspection will be blocked.
“The use of HTTPS has grown dramatically over the past several years. Many of our customers are encrypting their Web-based content and applications using HTTPS. Today, many Web sites are now starting to encrypt browser connections. Products that are not able to inspect HTTPS will let traffic pass through, bypassing all policy controls and allowing the potential of harmful or malicious code that may be masked by this encryption. This new CyBlock SSL Inspection enhancement will help our customers get control over all their HTTPS traffic.” -Dennis McCabe, President, Wavecrest Computing
