We Fix Now Responds to RHI Announcement
(PRWEB UK) 16 July 2013 -- It has been reported in HVP on July 12 that Greg Barker, the Energy and Climate Change Minister, has announced the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s (DECC) policy on Renewable Heat Incentive.
The policy document outlines that households could receive hundreds of pounds a year for the heat produced by their biomass boilers, solar thermal panels and heat pumps. The amounts to be paid to households range from 7.3p /kWh to 18.8p /kWh across appliances such as biomass boilers and solar thermal panels. Those eligible to receive money include homeowners, private and social landlords, third party owners of heating systems and those who build their own homes. A renewable heat system must have been installed since 15th July 2009 to also be eligible.
This scheme is the first in the world to be undertaken and aims to help homes in Great Britain to reduce carbon, save money on bills, encourage more people to install renewable heat technology and save money on bills.
The Energy and Climate Change Minister, Greg Baker, told HVP that:
“The Coalition is committed to helping hardworking families with the cost of living. Investing for the long term in new renewable heat technologies will mean cleaner energy and cheaper bills. So this package of measures is a big step forward in our drive to get innovative renewable heating kit in our homes.”
