Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association (WCCTA) and Iowa Network Services (INS) Work Together To Provide Quality Charity Grants To Iowan Communities
(PRWEB) September 16, 2015 -- Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association (WCCTA) and Iowa Network Services (INS) partner to assist rural communities by providing grants supporting betterment projects. The Badger Fire and Rescue Department in Badger, Iowa is one of the most recent recipients of these grants.
In need of replacing a 26 year old pumper truck, the Badger Fire and Rescue Department all volunteer members have been working on raising the more than $250,000 in funds needed for the purchase. WCCTA sponsored the application for the Badger Fire and Rescue to the INS Charity Grant Committee.
The INS Charity Grant Program was created in 1993 to increase service and support to rural independent telecommunications companies and the communities they serve. The INS Charity Grant Program awards grants on a quarterly basis. Over the course of twelve years, INS has donated over $850,000 to local communities and their surrounding areas. INS believes in rewarding various organizations for their passion and dedication to advancing their own neighborhoods. Each proposal that is chosen by the INS Grant Committee reflects that organization’s enthusiasm for serving their communities.
Iowa Network Services (INS) is the only Iowa-owned company that offers carrier-class voice, data and business services. INS is privately owned by a group of 122 Iowa Independent Telecommunications Companies, like WCCTA, and has served rural Iowans since 1989.
“WCCTA is proud to be a partner with INS in supporting projects like this in the communities we serve,” says Daryl Carlson, General Manager with WCCTA. “The dedication and commitment of the Badger Fire and Rescue to providing invaluable services to their communities mirrors the same passion that WCCTA and INS has for these important projects in our region.”
