The degrees were presented to Edmonson by PPA president, Ralph J. Romaguera, Sr., M.Photog.Hon.M.Photog.Cr., CPP, API, F-ASP, at the association’s annual convention, Imaging USA, held January 12-14, 2014, in Phoenix, Ariz.
The master of photography degree is not merely a piece of paper. It means that Edmonson has met the standards of excellence set by PPA. He has been awarded this degree in recognition of his superior photographic competence demonstrated through photographic competition, advanced education and service to the profession.
Edmonson's degrees—and all the expertise they require—illustrate his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. With over 52,000 members throughout the life of PPA, only 4% have attained a degree. His competition images have been selected by PPA to travel the world in their Loan Collection exhibit.
Edmonson currently holds the position of President of Dallas Professional Photographers Association and is a PPA Certified Professional Photographer. In addition to being recognized as a Master Photographer by PPA, he holds the dual distinction of Master Photographer of WPPI - Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. He is a multi-year recipient of being named Photographer of the Year through PPA's International Print Competition, Top 10 Photographers in Texas by TPPA - Texas Professional Photographers of America, and holder of the distinguished Fuji Masterpiece and Kodak Gallery awards.
