WEDI Announces Program for Annual Fall Conference: WEDI-Con 2015
RESTON, Va. (PRWEB) August 31, 2015 -- The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announces the agenda and open registration for its annual fall conference, WEDI-Con 2015. Taking place at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, Va. from October 26-29, WEDI-Con will convene hundreds of top leaders in healthcare information technology seeking to engage in strategic discussions on successful best practices for privacy and security, transactions and how to leverage the latest emerging industry trends.
Each year, WEDI-Con attracts hundreds of healthcare leaders looking to network and collaborate with a diverse cross-section of the industry including payers, providers, government regulators and industry vendors. The four-day event will be headlined by an opening keynote address from Kathleen Sebelius, 21st United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), as well as general sessions from:
• Dr. Susan Turney, CEO of Marshfield Clinic Health System;
• Dr. James Stallcup, CMIO of Cherokee Nation Health Services;
• Alan Morgan, CEO of National Rural Health Association and Michael Matthews, CEO of MedVirginia;
• Deidre Rodriguez, Director, Corporate Privacy Office and Regulatory Oversight of Anthem; and Ryan Witt, Vice President, Healthcare Industry Practice of Fortinet; and
• Erik Pupo, Managing Director, North America Clinical and Health Management Services of Accenture.
In addition to the general sessions and the breakout sessions on interoperability, healthcare innovation, patient engagement and payment models, WEDI has included several audience-interactive “think tank” sessions in which a panel of health IT experts will explore a topic of interest and the audience members share their experiences in a lively discussion. WEDI-Con 2015 will explore Administrative Simplification, ICD-10 and mHealth in this year’s think tanks. The full conference agenda is available and updated regularly on the WEDI website.

WEDI offers educational participation certificates for WEDI-Con attendees, up to a total of 21.5 hours of education. For Monday’s Privacy and Security Summit, attendees will be able to receive continuing education credits for Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C/CISO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
The conference and pre-conference summits on privacy and security and genomics are open to all interested healthcare stakeholders across provider, payer, vendor and government entities.
