Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group Honors Employees at Annual Awards Dinner

Welch Group, a leading provider of senior services for more than 65 years, recently honored long-time employees during the organization’s Annual Staff Recognition Dinner, held at Pembroke Country Club.

This year Welch Group employees receiving top honors for their years of service to the company include John Howe, a 42-year dietary staff worker at Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Weymouth; Sandra Benotti, RN, an MDS/MMQ coordinator at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy who has been on staff for 41 years; and Donna Griffin, director of social services at John Scott House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree, who is a 40-year employee.

This year there were 14 recipients of the Florence May St. John Scholarship. The scholarship was established by the Welch Family to honor St. John, who began caring for seniors in her home and would later set the model for her own daughter, Rita M. Welch who with her husband, Thomas, opened their first nursing center in Braintree - the John Scott House.
Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group’s Annual Staff Recognition Dinner is scheduled during National Nursing Home Week (May 10-16, 2015), an annual observance sponsored by the American Health Care Association. Skilled nursing centers around the country held events highlighting this year’s theme, “Bring on the Fiesta: Familia, Vida and Amor (Family, Life, Love).” The special events are meant to encourage residents, families and friends to reach out to and visit with their loved ones and caregivers.
