Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group Honors Long-Term Employees at Annual Awards Dinner
Braintree MA (PRWEB) June 14, 2016 -- Employee acknowledgment is a key ingredient in creating a successful work environment that inspires loyalty and longevity. Recognizing and rewarding employees for exceptional service is a hallmark of Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group – one of the oldest senior services organizations in Massachusetts. Welch Group, a leading provider of senior services for more than 67 years, recently honored over 350 long-time employees during the organization’s Annual Staff Recognition Dinner, held at Pembroke Country Club.
“Each employee performs a significant role in delivering exceptional care and service to our residents and family members,” says Welch Group President Richard W. Welch, referring to the extraordinary length of service of many Welch Group employees. “It’s important to purposefully mark the occasion, honoring Welch Group employees who embody our company’s goals and values,” adds Welch. Welch describes the Annual Awards Dinner as one more way to say thank you to a significant number of long-term Welch Group employees for their knowledge, experience and ongoing commitment to the care and well-being of all residents.
This year Welch Group employees receiving top honors for their years of service to the company include John Howe, a 43-year dietary staff worker at Colonial Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Weymouth; Sandra Benotti, RN, an MDS/MMQ coordinator at Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Quincy who has been on staff for 42 years and Donna Griffin, director of social services at John Scott House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Braintree, who is a 41-year employee.
Innovation and quality care are the backbone of Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group – increasingly important with an estimated 72 million Americans expected to be 65 years old or older by 2030. That commitment has made the Welch Group a leading provider of continuum of care services to seniors and their families who may need housing or care options, including independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care, adult day health or home care services.
In addition to awards for distinguished length of service, the Welch Group each year honors individuals who plan to continue their education in healthcare or related services. This year there were 12 recipients of the Florence May St. John Scholarship. The scholarship was established by the Welch Family to honor St. John, who began caring for seniors in her home, creating a model of care that her own daughter, Rita M. Welch and her husband, Thomas, would follow when they opened their first nursing center in Braintree – the John Scott House. The Welch Group, with facilities, located in Braintree, Brighton, Duxbury, Hingham, Marshfield, Quincy and Weymouth, employs over 2000 staff members.
