Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group Nursing Center Offers Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program
Duxbury MA (PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play a vital role in personalized patient care, according to Marianne Welch-Martinez, administrator at Bay Path Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and support the medical team in caring for residents. Bay Path Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Duxbury, MA, offers a full time in-house two-week training program. Since its inception nearly 900 trainees have received classroom instruction on caregiving and how to appropriately document patient care. Upon successful completion of the course, students qualify to take the state competency exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Many of today’s nurses develop the skills, dedication and desire to care for others as CNAs at rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers. She completed the nursing facility’s in-house certified nursing assistant training before pursuing her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree from Southeastern Technical Institute Nursing Program in Easton, MA.
“Making a difference in someone’s life is why I became a nurse,” says Soufan, a licensed practical nurse at Bay Path Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. “The exposure as a CNA to actual nursing procedures and techniques gave me the confidence to continue my education and pursue a nursing degree,” adds Soufan.
Enrolling in a Welch Group CNA Program can prepare an individual for an entry-level position in a skilled nursing facility, with the opportunity for growth. Current Bay Path Rehabilitation and Nursing staff members who also began their healthcare careers as CNAs and who have gone on to further their education and their careers include: Kimberly Sullivan, RN, BSN, a staff nurse who graduated from UMASS Dartmouth; and Margaret Kelly, LPN, a staff nurse who graduated from Quincy College.
