WeldFit Energy Group Introduces SureLaunch Automated Pigging System
(PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- WeldFit Energy Group introduced its new SureLaunch Automated Pigging System at the PPIM show in Houston. The patent pending SureLaunch system uses a unique, horizontally oriented launcher that can launch any type of pig through the use of logic-driven controls and an electrical drive launch system.
The SureLaunch system launches pigs to meet the needs of all four major pigging functions: liquid recovery, cleaning, batching and inspection. Multiple pigs of various types can be pre-loaded into the launcher to be individually launched at pre-set intervals. The programmable controller allows operators to launch pigs on a time-based frequency, with remote control operation, or with local manual control. The electrical drive system and a flow-through barrel design eliminate the need to open and close valves for each pig launch.
The SureLaunch system also uses a flow-through barrel design for the pig receiver. This allows for the receipt of multiple pigs without interruption of the product flow during continuous pigging operations. The receiver does not require the barrel to be depressurized between each single pigging operation.
The horizontal design of the SureLaunch system removes the need for access platforms and lifting equipment and it is skid mounted for mobility. Its electric drive launch system does not require supply gas to drive hydraulic or pneumatic launch pins, and the SureLaunch system launches any type or combination of pigs in both gas and liquid pipelines.
