Welkio Announces its Launch to Modernize Visitor Sign-Ins
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 14, 2015 -- Welkio, a software startup disrupting the office visitor sign-in process today announced its public launch. Backed by mobile innovation agency Hathway Inc., Welkio offers a comprehensive visitor sign-in system that modernizes the front desk sign-in process for visitors, receptionists, and IT while also increasing office-wide security and productivity.
Since Welkio’s private launch in January a number of companies have adopted the platform at their corporate offices, including Jamba Juice, MINDBODY, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, JustFab, GSVlabs, and Shopatron. In a short amount of time Welkio has quickly become a dominant player in the digital visitor sign-in space and hopes to build a prominent user base not only across professional offices, but also at conferences and events worldwide.
Welkio was co-founded by Hathway’s Head of Innovation Florent Ferere and Lead Software Engineer DJ Tarazona after a company hackathon. Ferere and Tarazona were inspired to bring the front desk sign-in process into the 21st century with a revamped, fully-digital design. Welkio’s technology enables businesses to collect and store names, emails, visitor photos, and signatures via a user-friendly tablet interface and web dashboard—at an affordable price of $79/month per location, all features included.
The Welkio team has been working with its early adopters to refine the product in advance of its public rollout and is geared up for national and international expansion. “By working closely with our early adopters we’ve been able to develop and deliver a highly intuitive, user-focused experience. From our iPad app to our web dashboard, we’ve built Welkio with our users in mind. Our public launch is simply the first step in our exciting roadmap. We’ll soon launch Welkio Pass, which will speed up the sign-in process across multiple locations, and plan on extending this service via our API to any locations requiring visitor sign-in, such as events and conferences,” said Ferere.
Welkio has received $400,000 to date in pre-seed funding from Hathway, which spun Welkio out into a separate corporation once the opportunity became clear. According to Hathway CEO Jesse Dundon, "We see huge potential for the success of the Welkio platform. In the U.S. alone there is a vast market opportunity of corporate offices, coworking spaces, schools, and medical establishments. At Hathway we help our clients leverage mobile to innovate like startups so it's only fitting that we launch one of our own. I couldn't be happier to have Flo and DJ at the helm as Welkio goes out on its own.”
