WePay Launches as the First Payment Provider to Support Google Wallet Instant Buy
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) January 26, 2015 -- WePay, a leading provider of payment services to online platforms and marketplaces, today became the first payment provider to integrate Google Wallet Instant Buy into its checkout experience.
Invoicing platform and WePay partner, InvoiceASAP, was the first to adopt the new service, instantly enabling its more than 200,000 small business customers to accept Google Wallet.
InvoiceASAP is a mobile invoicing platform that helps small businesses create and send professional invoices. Last year, InvoiceASAP partnered with WePay to make it easy for businesses to accept payments--and for their customers to make payments--online.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to pay and get paid,” said Paul Hoeper, Founder and CEO of InvoiceASAP. “But there’s only so much we can do on mobile. Entering your credit card info on a mobile device is inherently difficult, making it less likely that people will complete their transactions.”
InvoiceASAP is not alone. Despite mobile devices accounting for 60 percent of Internet traffic, less than 20 percent of online transactions are completed on a mobile device according to comScore. WePay hopes that integrating Google Wallet Instant Buy into its hosted payment form will change that.
Consumers who have their payment credentials in a Google Wallet account can pay any merchant that accepts Google Wallet in as few as two clicks.
“Google Wallet Instant Buy lets users speed through checkout in as few as two clicks by using their Google credentials, which has been helping businesses increase conversions and sales since its launch. This integration with WePay will now expand its reach and allow us to support small business owners through WePay's hosted payment offering, making it easier for them to accept payments online and on mobile devices”, says Steve Klebe, Business Development, Payments for Google.
“We’re thrilled to support Google Wallet Instant Buy,” said Bill Clerico, Founder and CEO of WePay. “There has been a ton of innovation on mobile, but there’s still a lot of friction associated with mobile checkout. With Google Wallet Instant Buy, WePay can dramatically improve the checkout experience on mobile and directly impact the bottom line of our partners and their end-users.”
WePay’s Google Wallet Instant Buy support is available to all qualifying partners and does not require additional integration work. Those interested in piloting the service should contact WePay at sales(AT)wepay.com.
