Wesley Financial Group CEO Chuck McDowell Explains Steps to Get Out of a Timeshare Contract
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) July 06, 2015 -- Anyone is at risk of falling into the timeshare trap, and many don’t realize they have fallen prey to a scam until it is too late – which begs the question: How do consumers get out of these contracts once they realize they’ve been duped? Wesley Financial Group CEO Chuck McDowell explains the steps consumers can take to terminate a timeshare contract.
McDowell has considerable experience as a consumer advocate within the timeshare industry. His firm, Wesley Financial Group, helps timeshare owners void contracts that were entered into as a result of fraud, misrepresentations or a narrowly defined type of activities that were part of the sales presentations, closing discussions and/or during the term of the relationship itself.
“Your first step should be to check the rescission period of the state in which you bought the timeshare and the state in which you live,” McDowell said. “If it is still within the rescission period, you must send certified mail requesting a cancellation of the contract.”
McDowell explained that sending the cancellation request via certified mail is crucial. Timeshare companies can claim the request was never received if it was not sent via certified mail. By the time the consumer is notified of this, the rescission period has likely ended, severely limiting the ability to terminate the contract.
If it is too late to rescind the contract, consumers should contact Wesley Financial Group. McDowell is well versed in timeshare contracts and knows the only three options when trying to get out of a contract.
“The only three options are the following: Keep the timeshare, file for bankruptcy or let Wesley Financial Group help you,” said McDowell.
