Focusing on medical dermatology, Dr. Mortazie did his dermatology residency at Michigan State University/St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, after graduating from Emory University with a B.S. in biology. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Mortazie’s specialty is skin cancer and Mohs micrographic surgery for treatment of the cancer. In fact, he underwent fellowship training in Mohs surgery and dermatologic oncology at the world-renowned Bennett Surgery Center of Santa Monica, CA. He is also active on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Learning Resource Committee, which helps keep practicing dermatologists updated on the latest advances in the world of dermatology. Moreover, he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on skin cancer.
“An important part of my duties as a medical dermatologist focused on skin cancer is regular reading and continuous research,” Dr. Mortazie says. “Medicine and medical technology are evolving so quickly that discarding research and not being current with new, effective treatments or techniques would be a disservice to my patients. And as we continue to expand our knowledge of skin cancer, I can help patients protect themselves by taking steps to prevent future skin issues such as skin cancer.”
