A Loxahatchee man was sentenced to 11 years in prison for his involvement in a deadly July 3, 2011, accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist, the Palm Beach Post reports (“Loxahatchee man sentenced to 11 years in prison for crash that killed motorcyclist,” Aug. 13).

According to the Palm Beach Post news story, the man was driving a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup truck in Royal Palm Beach when he rear-ended a motorcycle that was stopped at a traffic light. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and died at the scene.
The Palm Beach Post said that the driver of the pickup truck had a blood alcohol level of .32, four times the legal limit for Florida drivers. He was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
