Westchester Insurance Partners with Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County on Fundraiser Benefitting Homebound Residents
Grand Prairie, TX (PRWEB) August 09, 2016 -- Westchester Insurance of Grand Prairie, TX, is leading a charity drive to assist the area’s elderly and disabled residents by providing home-delivered nutritious meals to those who are homebound through Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County. The initiative is part of the insurance agency’s long-term ‘Agents of Change’ movement, a robust community involvement program which provides local charities, families and individuals with desperately needed support and fundraising. Meals On Wheels is a nonprofit organization which has been serving area residents in need for over 40 years, by offering nutritious meals, professional case management and other items and services to older adults, people with disabilities and others who are homebound. Most clients can no longer remain in their homes without some sort of assistance, but have no need or desire to live in a nursing home. 5,000 dedicated Meals On Wheels volunteers deliver two meals a day to nearly 4,600 county residents, as well as providing blankets, fans, groceries, medical equipment, pet food and other essentials, allowing clients to retain their dignity and independence. More importantly, they show concern, love and compassion on a daily basis to those who may otherwise feel severely isolated.
