Western Design Conference to Bring Western-inspired Functional Art to Jackson Hole, September 5 – 8
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- The Western Design Conference (WDC) announces that its 21st annual event in Jackson, Wyo., September 5 – 8, 2013, will open with its traditional Thursday night gala at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts, which includes the conference’s popular runway fashion show featuring local models. The annual Jackson Hole, WY, juried exhibit and sale of one-of-a-kind Western-inspired functional art will follow on Friday, September 6 through Sunday, September 8 at the Snow King Center.
The four-day conference begins at 6 p.m. on September 5 at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts with a live model jewelry show and champagne reception. At 7:15 p.m., guests move to the Center Theater for the fashion show, Design Excellence Awards ceremony and Winners’ Circle Auction, as Western-genre couture collections from both up-and-coming and established fashion designers take to the stage. Tickets range from $35 for balcony seating to $125 for premium seating and include a catered reception following the show. Fashion + Jewelry Gala tickets are available from the Center for the Arts ticket office or via a free mobile app available on the WDC home page.
Beginning Friday morning, September 6 at 10 a.m., doors will open at the Snow King Center on the annual Exhibit + Sale, a showcase of museum quality functional art created by the most talented Western-influenced artists working with wood, metal, leather, art-to-wear and textiles. Exhibiting artists are selected by a jury of design experts to display the contemporary Western furniture, jewelry, accessories and fashion that attract an audience from around the world to Jackson Hole to preview and purchase the unique, handcrafted wares. The Exhibit + Sale is open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., September 6 – 8. Tickets are $15, available at the door.
