WesternU’s Nursing, Physical Therapy Programs Among Top 15 in the Nation
Pomona, California (PRWEB) July 08, 2016 -- Western University of Health Sciences’ nursing and physical therapy programs rank among the top 15 in the nation, according to a new report.
The College of Graduate Nursing (CGN) is ranked by the National Center for Education Statistics Top Graduate Programs as No. 14 in the nation for nursing degrees for 2016. The Department of Physical Therapy Education, part of the College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP), is also No. 14 among physical therapy programs in 2016. The 2016 Top Graduate Program rankings represent graduate schools and programs all across the nation and are based on student reviews.
“Today’s nurses aren’t just caring for the sick, they’re changing our very notion of health care delivery,” said CGN Interim Dean Mary Lopez, PhD, RN. “Nurses are giving TED talks, publishing scientific research, developing mobile health care applications, and actively addressing health policy. At WesternU, we are educating nurses to lead health care into the future.”
In the report for the College of Graduate Nursing, one student stated, “As a health care professional, I want to advance my education and knowledge so I can offer more services to those in need. WesternU’s College of Graduate Nursing is a blended program with both on-line and classroom work … their program structure is very student-friendly, and the faculty is very student-focused. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to be part of a program and school such as this.”

“In our Doctor of Physical Therapy program, we strive to provide a strong, supportive, collaborative environment for our students,” said CAHP Dean Stephanie Bowlin, EdD, PA. “We feel this enhances student learning.”
In the report for WesternU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, one student commented: “I am currently attending Western University of Health Sciences in the Physical Therapy program. Instead of focusing merely on prestige and reputation, graduate school rankings are based on the insights of more than 51,000 real students who experienced the programs and schools, according to GraduatePrograms.com.
The ranking is based on feedback from more than 1,700 schools, and the list reflects the top institutions ranking student satisfaction with their education.
