Westminster, Colorado (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- For the 12th straight year in a row, Dr. George Stroberg, local Colorado Veterinarian heads for the Iditarod to help oversee the health of many of the 70 teams as groups of 12 to 16 dogs plus their mushers cover over 1,150 miles of frozen tundra in 8 to 14 days. A Colorado native and lover of all animals, Dr. Stroberg has been volunteering his time every year to take care of the dogs in the Iditarod race. His passion for sports, the outdoors and caring for these amazing creatures takes him to checkpoints throughout Alaska that are both barren and breathtaking.
