WFT Announces a New Service for Managing Decommissioned Legacy ERP Environment in the Cloud
Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Wharfedale Technologies, Inc. announced today a new service focused on managing decommissioned legacy ERP environments in the Cloud. The service will leverage WFT’s cloud computing capabilities and will deliver significant cost savings to companies that are required to maintain and manage legacy IT infrastructure for compliance or reporting purposes.
Managing decommissioned legacy applications is becoming increasingly complex and expensive due to more stringent compliance guidelines as well as increasing volumes of data. Each industry vertical has its specific set of requirements that dictate the need to support legacy processes and maintaining data for over 10 or 15 years. Often times these legacy applications are accessed sporadically, could be as little as a few times a year, yet companies need to maintain expensive hardware and provide support to keep them up and running. The support costs for maintaining legacy hardware also go up significantly after the first few years.
Wharfedale’s new offering will deliver significant IT infrastructure cost savings to the customer, while maintaining a high level of service availability. A fully managed solution will include management of legacy hardware, operating systems, and all essential upgrades and patches required to keep the legacy infrastructure working, as per defined SLAs. On an average this could be a 40-60% cost savings for the customer.
