Wharton Executive Education Brings New Program to India
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- Survival in our increasingly interconnected world depends on growth—rapid growth. But to achieve it, senior leaders must make a number of strategic choices, and then execute on those choices. A new Wharton Executive Education program for Indian executives, Executing Growth Strategies, examines the strategies business leaders can adopt to help their companies achieve sustainable and profitable growth and overcome the inevitable organizational and management challenges.
Harbir Singh, the Mack Professor of Management and the Vice Dean of Global Initiatives at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, notes, “those choices fall along two critical dimensions: ‘avenues of growth,’ such as innovation, consolidation, or diversification, and ‘modes of growth,’ which could be internal development and alliances or acquisitions. The program will explore each of these strategies in depth and help participants understand which methods of growth they should pursue.”
Executing Growth Strategies offers a unique approach grounded in both Western and Asian frameworks, and heavily informed by Wharton’s deep commitment to global research and cultural understanding. Specifically, executives will learn how to grow an existing business through consolidation, pursue growth through international expansion, resolve business conflicts and manage the evolution of an alliance effectively, and choose when to form alliances and when to acquire.
Faculty for Executing Growth Strategies also includes Prashant Kale, a Professor of Strategy at the Jones School of Management, Rice University, and a visiting professor at the Wharton School, Kellogg School of Management, and the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad. Kale says the opportunity to work with executives in this fast-growing market is a valuable one. “When you consider India’s expanding economy, and the need for companies to grow both locally and internationally, this is the right time and place for this program.”
Executing Growth Strategies is part of Wharton Executive Education’s Accelerated Development Program (ADP), a certificate program for high-potential executives in India. Designed for rising leaders who wish to refine their business acumen and enhance their professional development, ADP helps them beyond the classroom setting to become more reflective and proactive in managing their careers. All ADP programs feature the same world-class faculty and content that Wharton already provides companies, organizations, and individuals on its historic campus at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
ADP participants chose one of two tracks: the first includes three separate programs in India, plus coaching and professional assessments. The second includes two programs in India and the opportunity to attend an additional program in Philadelphia. No other business school in India currently offers these types of additional benefits. In addition to Executing Growth Strategies, the Wharton programs offered in India include: Customer Driven Marketing; Strategic Thinking and Leadership; Leading People in Organizations; and Driving Profitable Growth.
Executing Growth Strategies will be held in India on August 25-28, 2014. For more information about the program, or to enroll, please contact Eruditus Executive Education at +91.22.61623112 (Mumbai) or Wharton_ADP(at)eruditus(dot)com.
