What Are the Benefits of Choosing to Take Your School Ski Trip in Spring or Easter?
(PRWEB UK) 27 April 2015 -- Although the most popular time for school ski trips is usually February half-term, spring skiing has plenty of advantages that should be more tempting to school ski groups. The milder weather makes for more pleasant ambient conditions and the shorter lift queues and virtually crowd-free slopes make it very pleasant for teachers supervising schoolchildren. The longer days and better weather also make this a great time to enjoy après-ski activities.

Gone are the biting winds, low-visibility snow storms and thick layers of thermal ski wear. It is also quieter on the slopes, whilst offering good snow depth that has built up throughout the season.”
When deciding on a resort for spring or Easter skiing, there are a few things that should be kept in mind. Firstly, if Easter is late or you are travelling later in the season, it is worth taking note of that old adage; head high (typically, 1,500m) or head north. These resorts experience colder temperatures at this time of year, which will better preserve the fresh snow that is more likely to fall here.
Babb agrees, “We have a lot of school groups that enjoy travelling during the Easter holidays, even when these holidays fall later in the season. We use our first-hand knowledge and experience of the resorts to advise them on the most snow-sure for this time of year. Usually, this is synonymous with the high-altitude resorts, such as Madonna di Campiglio, Les Arcs, Sestriere, Passo Tonale and Les 2 Alpes”.
