White Construction Is Highlighted in the Newest Edition of The Who’s Who in Building and Construction Publication for Detroit
Detroit, Michigan (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 -- The motto of W. Bernard White is “Learn, earn, and give back.” White Construction, one of the largest African-American-owned construction companies in the country, has been an integral part of the Detroit building community since 1989. The company has contributed to multiple major construction projects in the last decade, including Campus Martius, Detroit RiverWalk, Detroit Public Safety Headquarters, the Michigan Crime Lab, United States Citizenship Immigration Building, Detroit Wayne County Port Authority, and the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center Auditorium.
Along with partners Barton Malow and Hunt Construction Group, White Construction is currently at work on the new Detroit Red Wings sports complex, a 20,000 seat facility that represents over $450 million. White’s company is also the construction manager for the 20 proposed rail stations for the M-1 Rail Line, a fixed streetcar line that will go along Woodward Avenue. Coverage of similar local projects can be found in The Who’s Who in Building & Construction Magazine. The biannual regional magazine will also include information about the latest construction technology, and expert insight on bidding, marketing, and estimating). The publication also includes a buyers’ guide for those looking to purchase products or hire. The accompanying Who’s Who Showcase is where the magazine (and its publisher, The Blue Book Network) come to life. The Detroit Showcase will take place on June 2nd.
After achieving his success through hard work and education, W. Bernard White wants to fulfill his promise to “give back.” He has established the W. Bernard White Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and grants to under-privileged African-American high school and college students who are interested in science, technology, and engineering. The foundation became fully funded as of March 2016 and is currently reviewing grants and offering scholarships.
