Whole Leaf Tea Company Embraces Local Roots and Healthy Cachet With State Branded byCOLORADO Certification
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- The Tea Spot has been a Colorado company since its founding ten years ago. From the beginning, the premium tea company has hired all its employees in the Front Range of Colorado and maintained its design, operations and fulfillment functions, office and warehouse in Boulder. This week, the company proudly announces its participation with the state’s byCOLORADO campaign.
Before becoming a member of ByCOLORADO, The Tea Spot labeled its loose leaf tea packages with “Handcrafted in Boulder, Colorado, since 2004” and identified some of its Steepware® as being made in Colorado. The company’s USDA-NIFA funded market research work done under the Small Business Innovation Research program in 2010 - 2012 showed that their consumer base had a preference for products that were made in Colorado. This preference for Colorado products held true both within the state of Colorado as well as outside the state’s borders.
The Tea Spot was therefore eager to embrace the state’s byCOLORADO marketing and became an early adopter of the campaign alongside national brands like Crocs, OtterBox, Boulder Brands, Vail Resorts, New Belgium Brewing Co, and GoLite. Over 725 companies have been certified to date. All of The Tea Spot's loose leaf tea retail packages are now branded with the distinctive green and white “Colorado Made” logo. The company’s Steepware® products bear the compatible “Colorado Designed” logo. The state’s brand advocates qualities which directly align with The Tea Spot’s mission and values. Innovation and creativity are two of the qualities for which The Tea Spot is recognized within its industry. Health and “happy sipping” are the ultimate goals of the tea company’s mission, which is to foster health and wellness through whole leaf tea. Additionally, the iconic natural beauty of Colorado's outdoors is the driving force behind the company’s development of on-the-go tea accessories in their Steepware® line, designed in Colorado.
Program Manager of the state’s program, Teri Cavanagh, stated, "The byCOLORADO program gives Colorado companies an edge by translating that unique Colorado cachet into increased sales and deeper brand loyalty. We're so happy to have The Tea Spot on board. They're just the kind of company that demonstrates the amazing ingenuity and passion of Colorado Makers!"
The Tea Spot's CEO, Maria Uspenski, stated this week, "In recognition of our roots and our company's 10th anniversary, the Colorado Made and Colorado Designed branding are an integral part of our positioning which reflects the unique nature of our company within the premium tea industry. Our strongest features have been, and continue to be, our ability to respond to customer requirements in real-time through service, product offerings and product innovation, and of course, our philanthropic 10% pledge program. All of these critical facets of our company are shaped by our Colorado-based team and our community."
