Widener University Launches Fully Online RN-BSN Program
Chester, PA (PRWEB) July 18, 2014 -- Widener University introduced its fully online Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program, benefiting RNs who are looking to quickly further their education to advance their career and meet the elevated requirements of prospective and recognized Magnet status hospitals. Applications for the Fall 2014 term are now being accepted.
“We’re proud to bring our recognized RN-BSN program online to help nurses swiftly complete their degree and elevate their level of clinical care,” says Joyce Rasin, Acting Dean, School of Nursing. “Nurses can convert work experience into credits to successfully complete their BSN in as little as one year.”
Widener University’s online RN-BSN can be completed in as little as one year by allowing nurses to transfer up to 33 credits from work experience. Prior course credits may also meet other prerequisites. Many students will be positioned to earn their BSN in as little as one year.
Widener is one of only a few schools named a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing for 2013-2017, an honor awarded only to institutions that demonstrate proven excellence in learning environment and contribution to the nursing field. The RN-BSN program builds skills beyond nursing, offering experience in healthcare policy, finance, and regulatory environments to help nurses advance into leadership and management positions or to find placement within recognized Magnet hospitals.
Growth of the healthcare industry creates demand for higher qualifications of current nurses. An online RN-BSN option helps nurses meet new requirements by hospitals through the quick completion of coursework and the transfer of credits from work experience.
