WigWag on the move: Open-source Internet of Things platform pioneers recognized with SVIEF Innovation Award and as a SXSW Eco finalist
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- WigWag Inc., the award-winning Internet of Things (IoT) platform company, announced today that they will be honored by the Silicon Valley Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (SVIEF) with a Top 30 Innovation Award for pioneering an open-source, scalable and easily programmable IoT platform. CEO and Co-Founder Ed Hemphill will speak in a session covering Smart Home technology.
WigWag is on the move after spending the last two years quietly building a truly open-source IoT platform based on their software run-time, deviceJS. This week, WigWag will be accepting the SVIEF Top 30 Innovation Award. SVIEF is an international conference designed to foster innovation and promote business partnerships connecting the U.S. and Asia-Pacific region. Past speakers include former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, as well as other tech luminaries and political dignitaries from around the globe. The event will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on September 26th and 27th, and organizers are expecting more than 25,000 attendees.
As a recognized IoT thought-leader, WigWag CEO and Co-Founder Ed Hemphill will share his perspectives with other industry leaders in the Smart Home and Internet of Things industries. The SVIEF session will be from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 27.

The event is set to be held on Tuesday, October 6, from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM, in the Austin Convention Center.

Ed Hemphill is CEO and Co-Founder of WigWag, Inc. Ed is a recognized thought-leader in the Internet of Things industry. Prior to WigWag, he led the sales engineering team at LifeSize through all major customer wins in the Americas, contributing to the $400 million acquisition by Logitech. Ed started programming at the age of 8, and he received a Bachelors of Computer Science degree from the United States Military Academy and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
