Vancouver, WA (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Wilco currently operates fifteen stores in Washington and Oregon. East Vancouver will be the company’s 16th retail location and the 4th store in Washington, joining Gig Harbor, Kelso and Battle Ground.
Wilco is the largest agricultural supply cooperative in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the 15 stores, they also offer bulk fuel and lubricants and operate seven Agronomy Centers which provide products and services to full-time farms.
The new East Vancouver store will be located in the 162nd Place Shopping Center in the former QFC (Kroger) Grocery Store. The store will include a 20,000-sq.-ft. sales floor featuring convenience True Value hardware and Benjamin Moore paint; Purina feeds and livestock supplies; a lawn and garden department; premium pet supplies and pet food from brands like Nutro, Blue Buffalo, Diamond and Taste of the Wild; and a full service Pet Grooming shop.
The facility will also include a 5,000-sq.-ft. space dedicated to clothing that focuses on work wear with brands like Carhartt, Danner, Levi, Wrangler and Ariat. Outside will be a covered load out and warehouse with a dedicated space for fencing, gates, feed and soil amendments.
A feature unique to the Wilco site in Vancouver is an indoor Garden Center. Wilco focuses on nursery quality plants to complete gardens or landscaping; like hanging baskets, vegetables and flowering annuals.
The new store will provide over 30 new jobs to the community. These positions include full-time and part-time jobs in an array of areas; some positions include: manager, groomers, warehousers, cashiers, inventory and sales.
“We’ve had such a positive experience within the Battle Ground and other Washington communities that we’re very excited to add a store that serves the Vancouver and Camas communities,” said Jake Wilson, Marketing and Communications Manager.
The new Wilco store is scheduled to open later this year with some construction and store preparation activities beginning over the next few months. While positions won’t be hired until later this year, for more information about Wilco or available jobs, visit http://www.wilcostores.com.
