Wildlife Alliance Joins Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project for One Night Only; Restore the Roar: Wildlife Photography Exhibit
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 16, 2013 -- On October 23rd, Wildlife Alliance will present Restore the Roar, a special photography exhibition in New York City. Wildlife Alliance will join the Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project (AEACP) in their brand new gallery space for an exhibition of amazing wildlife photography featuring animals rescued from the wildlife trade by Wildlife Alliance. In addition to the featured photographs, AEACP will showcase original art created by Asian elephants, highlighting the plight of this rapidly disappearing species. The photographs and artwork will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting rescued animals.
For over 12 years, Wildlife Alliance has been at the forefront of the illegal wildlife trade in Cambodia. Over 56,000 animals have been rescued from illegal wildlife traffickers by our undercover investigation unit, which would otherwise have been killed and used as food or medicine. 1,200 rescued wild animals are also now being cared for at our facilities at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center. With thousands more being released back into our 2 million acre protected forest habitat, Wildlife Alliance has been a driver in reversing the effects of wildlife extinction.
Nick Marx, Wildlife Alliance’s Director of Wildlife Programs, who will be at the event, states, “The illegal wildlife trade is so intensely cruel, and causes such immense damage to wildlife populations. We thank the Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project for joining us in our fight to end trafficking in Southeast Asia. This is a war we must win if we are to save many species from extinction.
