Wilkes County School District (NC) Selects InfoSnap for an Online Student Registration Solution that Integrates with North Carolina’s Customized Version of PowerSchool
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) March 17, 2015 -- Wilkes County School District (NC) will move from a paper-based system to an online solution for registering students. The district partnered with InfoSnap, recipient of the Pearson PowerSchool ISV Integration Excellence Award, to design a customized online registration solution that meets the statewide PowerSchool student information system requirements.
Wilkes County is comprised of 9,900 students and 22 schools. In an effort to reduce the amount of paperwork and time spent on registration every year, moving the process online was a logical solution.
“We wanted to implement a uniform enrollment practice across all 22 schools. Our families and administrative staff spent too much time filling out and managing forms,” said April Marr, Director of Student Services at Wilkes County.
Instead of completing stacks of paper forms, families will be able to register their students electronically. Families who have more than one child within the district can ‘snap’ data from one student to another. The use of SmartForm™ technology, an intuitive tool built into the solution, will collect relevant data based on previously entered information or choices (grade, activities, medical history, etc.).
The data submitted by families are reviewed, polished, and formatted to meet Wilkes County’s policies and then delivered into PowerSchool.
“Collaborating with InfoSnap will help us improve equity in the enrollment process, accuracy of student data, and resource management. If students require specific services, we can identify them early in the enrollment process and accommodate the students’ needs on the first day of school,” states Marr.
The district will also implement InfoSnap’s Language Localization to meet the need of this diverse population by providing multilingual forms to families.

Families will be able to utilize InfoSnap this spring to enroll kindergarten students. The solution will be accessible for enrollment of students in first through twelfth grade later this spring.
