Will the New 360-Chess Project on Kickstarter Give Chess Players Another Dimension?
Port Orange, FL (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- In a far, far away future on the Star Trek starship Enterprise, Dr. Spock and Dr. McCoy play on multiple chessboards stacked on top of each other in the third dimension. But, are the real people of the 21st century ready to try something even stranger? What about a 360-degree chess game played all around a 3D cube? This is what a new Kickstarter campaign is trying to discover.
On November 11, Pawel and Alexandra Bodytko, father and daughter developers of the mobile game Spheroku™ (http://www.spheroku.com), launched a Kickstarter project that promises to give chess players a new, three dimensional base to wrap their wits around. This concept was conceived while the developers were working on Spheroku, which gives sudoku players a brand new, colorful and three-dimensional way to solve their popular puzzle. The new cubic battlefield for 360-Chess forces players to use different strategies and different techniques. This is in addition to employing their brain's memory and spatial coordination regions. (360 Chess is animated, since the cube has to be rotated 360 degrees around two axes when considering moves.) The developers are seeking $50,000 to create a mobile and web portal based network game, which they plan to release in August 2014. For their help, 360 Chess supporters will receive a membership subscription to the portal that will allow them to meet and be matched with other players. Donors will be able to offer suggestions regarding the revisions of the rules needed to adapt chess to this new environment. Those who contribute the most will make the final decision regarding the rules.
"Kickstarter is a perfect venue for this project," stated Pawel Bodytko. "After December 12, we will really know if the project is worth pursuing. Chess, both the traditional version and the version we propose, is a social activity requiring a partner. A successful campaign will give us both the funds to develop the game and the player community, from which people will be able to find someone to play against. The Kickstarter campaign is an all-or-nothing proposition. If the funding goal is not reached, we will not receive any funds and the supporters will not be charged. In this case, 360-Chess will have to wait another 1500 years for Dr. Spock to show up," laughed Bodytko. The crowd-funding campaign will run until December 12, 2013.

He has been closely associated with companies such as Sun & Skin Care Research, LLC; Alva-Amco Pharmacal Companies, Inc.; Fruit of the Earth, Inc.; and others.
