Will the USA take home the Global CyberLympics World Championship title for a second year?
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- The best teams in the world have battled each other in three preliminary rounds of the worldwide hacking games, Global Cyberlympics, consisting of digital forensics, network exploitation, and web applications. All 129 teams representing over 40 countries showed off their best hacking skills to make it to the world finals of EC-Council Foundation's Global CyberLympics. Only the top two teams from each region earned their spots in the finals:

The world championship rounds of the Global Cyberlympics hacking games will be held live alongside ISACA’s CSX Conference in Washington DC on October 20th and the world is watching to see if the United States can again be crowned the world champions of hacking. Ending a three year winning streak for the Dutch team in 2014, the challengers have their work cut out for them as the Dutch are determined to win back their title.
This year EC-Council Foundation, the nonprofit behind the Games, has partnered with global IT association ISACA to bring the live hacking event to a larger audience.
Global CyberLympics is an online ethical hacking, computer network defense game, dedicated to finding the top computer network defense teams. Teams are made up of 4 to 6 players, and each round serves as an elimination round until only winning teams remain. The top winning teams from every continent are invited to play the game live in person at the world finals. Global CyberLympics’ goal is to raise awareness towards increased education and ethics in information security through a series of cyber competitions that encompass forensics, ethical hacking, and defense. One key initiative for Global CyberLympics is to foster an environment that creates child online protection through education. The mission statement of the Global CyberLympics is “Unifying Global Cyber Defense through the Games.”
