William Mattar Law Offices gets Buffalo Community and Law Enforcement Active in Their Summer Heat Safety Campaign
Buffalo, New York (PRWEB) June 06, 2016 -- William Mattar law offices will be sending valuable safety decals to Buffalo day cares, police stations, radio and television stations with the William Mattar “In the Heat, Check the Seat” logo promoting awareness of the danger of leaving children and pets in vehicles. Look for these items and information at the New York State Police’s booth at this year’s Erie County Fair as well as other summer events in the area.
Children and animals die every year from heat stroke as a result of having been left in vehicles. The hope of the decal is so the owner of the vehicle or passerby who sees the vehicle will be more aware that a child or animal might be inside. With the participation of the New York State police on this campaign, William Mattar hopes to bring heightened awareness to the community.
On a 78-degree day, the temperature inside a parked car can rise as high as 120 degrees in only minutes. On a 90-degree day, the interior temperature of a vehicle can reach as high as 160 degrees in less than 10 minutes, according to PETA. A child or animal left in a car under these conditions even for just a few minutes can lead to respiratory distress and potential death from hyperthermia.
