William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty Participates in AmeriCares Event
Stamford, CT (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty recently completed their fundraising efforts for “Journey to El Salvador” through AmeriCares. Their next steps will be to witness the impact of all of the donations through the AmeriCares Airlift Benefit. Through a company match and many donations from agents and company administration, the firm raised over $30,000. All donations will be used towards providing humanitarian aid to El Salvador, a country with over 36% of its population under the poverty level.
Agents from the firm’s brokerages who donated to AmeriCares were eligible for a raffle drawing for the chance to visit El Salvador. The winners included Leslie Shemin Lester from Scarsdale, Anne Moretti from Scarsdale, Fran Klingenstein from Rye, Rick Weiner from Essex, Thaddea Sheridan from Stamford and, Rob Vannucchi, the firm’s Stamford manager. The actual Journey to El Salvador will commence on October 5-6, where the five winning agents and manager will take the “Journey to El Salvador” and witness the impact of their donations.
Last year, AmeriCares sponsored the “Journey of Hope” that raised $1.2 million in relief efforts for Guatemala. $35,000 in donations were from William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. AmeriCares hosted the Airlift Benefit gala last year, and were ecstatic to see that the event was sold out with 750 guests. Around the same numbers are expected for the event this year. The 26th annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit gala event will start on Saturday, October 5 at the Panorama Hangar at Westchester County Airport. Directly from this gala event, all 75 total participants will take a plane to El Salvador. The 24-hour trip will include visits to hospitals, clinics, homes for children and elderly, as well as various poverty stricken areas of the country. As June Rosenthal, from the Stamford brokerage, stated about her AmeriCares trip last year, “I had 24 years of learning in about 24 hours.” This will be a life changing experience for all participants.
