Windy Ridge Orchard Announces Expansion Plans for 2016
North Haverhill, NH (PRWEB) January 11, 2016 -- The Fabrizio family has announced expansion plans for The Cider House Café and the Winery at Seven Birches. Windy Ridge Orchard has continued to grow over the years and these two amenities and the family run blueberry, Christmas tree and apple farm have been a beloved destination for visitors far and near. The Cider House Café will increase its kitchen and seating capacity by expanding into the orchard’s winery building that was built in 2012. Seven Birches will expand by moving to a larger production facility in Lincoln, NH. The café building will become the new wine shop where their signature wines can be tasted and purchased.
The Cider House Café was started in 2004 by Sheila Fabrizio. It has grown from a small donut shop to a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant during the summer and fall months. Visitors enjoy full breakfasts and signature sandwiches made using fresh local products including fruits and vegetables from the farm, homemade bread, local syrup and Hatchland milk. Expansion into the winery building will enable the café crew to offer more menu items, plate service, and more spacious seating. The café will continue to offer the same quality home cooked meals friendly service and beautiful views their customers have enjoyed for the past 12 years.
The Seven Birches Winery began producing wine at Windy Ridge in 2010. The winery specializes in estate wines produced from the orchard’s own apples and blueberries. In its first year of operation the winery produced 10 cases of wine that sold out in just a few short weeks. The winery has grown to produce and sell nearly 1000 cases of wine from fruit sourced around the world. Although the classic European grape varietals are gaining in popularity, it’s the signature estate-bottled Windy Ridge Apple and Blueberry that keep customers coming back each season. The winery is currently producing nine red and white grape varietals and the two fruit wines.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have experienced such exponential growth over the past five years;” says Mark LaClair, winemaker and cofounder, “with continuous increases in production, we’re always in need of more space.“ The first expansion came in 2012 when the family built the 2100 square-foot winery building with dedicated production and tasting/function rooms. Wine production will be moving this year to the bustling tourist town of Lincoln, NH - just twenty miles to the east. The winery’s new home will be inside the new Riverwalk Resort at Loon Mountain, a planned five-star luxury resort hotel and condominium set to open in May, 2016. “We are excited to be opening a new facility at Riverwalk in Lincoln,” notes LaClair, “it’s a terrific new year-round location for us. “
With all of the improvements planned for the coming year, the Fabrizio family ensures that the customers will remain delighted by this charming, family-friendly farm where the apples are picked, the doughnuts are hot and the wine is vintage.
