Wine Country Women LLC to Raise Money for Local Animal Rescue as Wildfires Ravage Napa and Sonoma Counties
Napa, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2017 -- Wine Country Women LLC, a woman-owned luxury lifestyle entertainment brand based in Napa today announced that it will make a $2,500 donation to the Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (JARR), a local animal rescue and sanctuary for companion and farmed animals in need that also helps with animal roundup and hosting when wildfires hit the Napa and Sonoma region.
In addition, the company will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales of its forthcoming book, Wine Country Women of Napa Valley to support the ranch’s ongoing mission.
“I am so grateful for Wine Country Women's generous donation, which is much needed and appreciated to help the animal victims of these tragic fires,” said Monica Stevens, co-founder and executive director of JARR “With over 20,000 people evacuated from their homes in wine country, with no time to collect any personal items, there are hundreds of displaced domestic animals who need help.”
JARR was immediately on the ground assessing needs, delivering pet food supplies to shelters and evacuating animals to safe zones. Its work will continue for months as the Napa and Sonoma counties endure and rebuild. Donations are desperately needed and will go towards buying food for horses and other domestic animals, veterinary care and emergency shelter.
At the time of this release, several of the women featured in the book, Wine Country Women of Napa Valley, have evacuated and lost their vineyards while others are uncertain about their homes or businesses as a result of the devastating fires. Some of the women in the book are dealing with the safety and relocation of their own horses and farm animals until things settle.
Michelle Mandro, president of Wine Country Women and creator of the book, says, “We’re a new small local business with not much of a philanthropy budget, but I wanted to do something to help. I chose Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch because they service both Napa and Sonoma counties. In these type of crises animals are often over looked, neglected and displaced. I wanted to provide assistance for them. Our business is focused on many of the extraordinary people of the region. It is our desire that we do all we can to help them and their families in this time of need.”
