Winemaker, Best-Practices Consultant Added as Keynote Speakers at ASQ Conference
Milwaukee, Wis. (PRWEB) February 06, 2014 -- The vice president of a winery that combines Six Sigma with traditional winemaking has been named a keynote speaker for ASQ’s Lean and Six Sigma Conference, Feb. 24–25 in Phoenix.
Also confirmed as a keynote speaker is lean best-practices consultant William Peterson, who has more than 30 years of hands-on experience using continuous improvement tools to enhance process efficiency, job satisfaction and organizational performance.
Attendees of ASQ’s Lean and Six Sigma Conference will learn how their organizations can embrace, apply, sustain and continuously leverage lean and Six Sigma methodologies to deliver increased efficiencies, profitability and return on investment.
The conference theme, “Sustaining Results Through a Culture of Quality,” focuses on new and unique applications of lean and Six Sigma, lean and Six Sigma in service, change management and the human side of lean and Six Sigma.
Peterson, and Christian Ahlmann of Six Sigma Winery, join already announced keynote speakers Tony Kern, Ph.D., and Shane A. Yount.
Kern is one of the world’s leading authorities on human performance in time-constrained, error-intolerant environments, and Yount, principal of Competitive Solutions Inc., has worked with such organizations as the U.S. Department of Defense, Glaxo Smith Kline, Lockheed Martin, Michelin, Pfizer, and others.
Ahlmann, vice president of operations at the Six Sigma Ranch, applies Six Sigma methods to agriculture and business operations of Six Sigma Ranch in Northern California, monitoring metrics at each stage of production, from the planting of the vineyard to the consumption of the final product, where the voice of the customer dictates all processes.
Ahlmann has 15 years’ experience in agricultural production and business management and joined the Six Sigma Ranch in 2008. The Six Sigma Ranch includes a winery, vineyards and grazing for pastured beef, lamb and pork on 4,300 acres.
Peterson began developing his approach to lean methodology during a 26-year career with Delta Air Lines’ Technical Operations Division. Since 2006, Peterson — a faculty member in the University of Tennessee’s College of Business — has been dedicated to teaching professionals in diverse industries how to apply lean best practices to improve business processes.
Peterson focuses primarily on operational processes and is at the forefront of applying lean to business processes.
The ASQ 2014 Lean and Six Sigma Conference will be held at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and offers more than 50 sessions led by experts in their fields, including “Lean: It’s About the People; It’s About the Process,” “How Intel Applies Lean, Six Sigma, and Common Sense,” “Lean Six Sigma in Higher Education: How to Begin, How to Sustain,” “Human Aspects of Lean” and more.
