Winter Warriors Will Take the Plunge to Support Cancer Research Saturday, March 14, at Nagawicka Lake in Hartland, Wisconsin – Ellen's Icebreaker 2015
Hartland, WI (PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Winter warriors will take the plunge to support http://www..mcw.edu/cancercenter.htm [cancer research __title__ cancer research] Saturday, March 14, at Nagawicka Lake in Hartland, Wisconsin. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with plunging to follow.
“Ellen’s Icebreaker for Cancer Cure” is held in memory of Ellen Smith, a Froedtert Hospital employee who died from gastric cancer in October 2013 at the age of 59.
This is the third year for the event, which is organized by Rick Smith, Ellen’s husband, and his employer, JX Enterprises / JX Peterbilt. Proceeds benefit cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. The event has raised $70,000 since its inception.
People who do not wish to take the plunge or brave the elements can participate by donating in support of someone making the plunge.
There will be food, beverages, music, and a bonfire after the event at Waukesha County’s Naga-Waukee Park.
