Wise Company Announces Scholarship Winners, will award $3,000 in Scholarship Funds
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (PRWEB) August 09, 2016 -- The Wise Company is excited that they will be awarding scholarships to three promising young scholars as part of their bi-annual scholarship essay competition.
The spring Wise Company scholarship winners are:
1st Place: Zachary Field, studying film and television production at New York University. Mr. Field will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
2nd Place: Anthony Serra, B.Sc. Biology, McGill University. He is currently working toward a MPA/MSES in Environmental Management at Indiana University. Mr. Serra will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
3rd Place: Tanian Browning, studying Kinesiology at Boise State University. Mr. Browning will receive a $500 scholarship.
Applicants were asked to submit a 600–800-word essay on the social impact of a complete failure of the aging U.S. power grid on our country, as well as what residents can do to better prepare for such a potential catastrophe. Essays were judged on originality and creativity, emotional impact, and relevance to topic. All applicants were required to carry a minimum GPA of 3.5 and provide at least one letter of recommendation.
