Wolf’s Lair K9 Appears on You & Me in the Morning
Northbrook, IL (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Representatives with Wolf’s Lair K9 announced today that the company was recently featured on You & Me in the Morning, WCIU The U.
During the news segment, Carlos D. Aguirre, owner and trainer for Wolf’s Lair K9, a professional dog training business owned and operated by a Marine Corps veteran, discussed misconceptions that many dog owners have while training their dog.
"You always want to be as positive as possible, but also teach a little structure as well,” Aguirre stressed during the news feature, which can be viewed at: http://www.wciu.com/youandme.php?section=home&assets=videos&assetID=10011876
Aguirre went on to point out that dog owners should help their dog understand that there are rules and regulations throughout the house.
"Sometimes there are big misconceptions,” Aguirre noted.
For example, during thunderstorms, Aguirre warned not to pet the dog too much during thunderstorms.
“You're actually telling your dog, ‘hey this is the behavior that I want you to keep doing,’” Aguirre said. “We suggest that you do something fun or something else instead of petting during thunderstorms.”
The company, Aguirre noted during the interview, goes to dog owners’ homes to focus on the specific thing the customer wants.
“There’s nothing wrong with a class, but often times in a class situation that's too large, people get mad, because the trainer is spending too much time with someone else,” Aguirre. We teach you things like reading signs, such as aggressiveness, recognizing if it’s dominance.”
Lastly, Aguirre encouraged dog owners to use treats.
“Use treats, but use treats in different locations, not just in front of the refrigerator or cookie jar,” Aguirre said.
Wolf’s Lair K9 has a variety of programs it offers, such as The Lodge and Learn program, which is designed to train dogs and equip them with the fundamentals for a balanced life.
The company also offers in-home training, private lessons, day training, personal protection, and specialized training, such as search and rescue, French ring, scent detection, puppy bite work development and more.
