Women In Trucking Association President/CEO Recognized as Supply Chain Leader
Plover, WI (PRWEB) February 17, 2016 -- The annual “Pros to Know” awards honor select supply chain executives who are leading initiatives to help their clients, companies, or the supply chain community at large to prepare for the significant challenges in the year ahead.
WIT’s Voie is recognized for her efforts to raise awareness for the dramatic shortage of women in the transportation industry. She works tirelessly to communicate the need for more women at all levels of the industry – from truck drivers to leaders in the corporate realm. (Today, just 6 percent of drivers and 14 percent of managers in the industry are female.)
Voie founded WIT in 2007 and continues to guide the association in pursuing its mission– encouraging the employment of women in the trucking industry, minimizing obstacles that might keep them from succeeding and celebrating the successes of its members. Under Voie’s leadership, WIT has undertaken numerous initiatives to raise awareness and encourage women to get involved in the transportation industry, including the Accelerate! Conference and Expo and annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel event.
