Women Leaders from APT Offices Worldwide Gather to Share Workplace Experiences at Women’s Leadership Forum
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) June 01, 2017 -- From May 23-25, 2017, women from across departments and APT offices worldwide gathered to participate in APT’s Women’s Leadership Forum (WLF). The event offered opportunities for team members to engage across roles and functions through activities including a networking reception, panel, and networking meetings.
“As our organization grows, it is a priority for us to maintain a sense of community across teams and offices,” said Cathy Baker, Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President, Marketing. “The WLF was an important opportunity for our women team members to take a step back from their daily responsibilities and come together for an open discussion on leadership and inclusivity in the workplace. We are excited by the positive response.”
Designed to foster open discussion, the forum was intended to encourage women at APT to share their professional experiences and learn from one another. This programming was a component of APT’s ongoing efforts to maintain an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees.
“The WLF allowed women from APT offices across the globe to truly come together as a community,” said Karen Chang, a Principal in Client Services based in APT’s Taipei office. “As APT’s international footprint grows, events of this nature bring team members even closer together, providing a unique and empowering opportunity for team building.”
The event also featured a question-and-answer panel featuring women in senior roles across departments at APT. “I’ve been at APT for nearly nine years, and events like the WLF embody the openness and inclusivity that characterize the organization,” said Melanie Lambert, a Vice President in Software Engineering based in APT’s D.C. office. “These activities provided us with a valuable opportunity to learn from our colleagues, which was very inspiring. I was particularly excited to be on the WLF panel, where I had the opportunity to answer questions and share my experiences and advice with the group.”
APT continues to build a culture of inclusivity through a variety of initiatives, including various Business Resource Groups such as the Women’s Leadership Network, PRIDE, EAST (Exploring Asian Societies and Trends) and the Latin Network.
