Wood-Mizer Breaks Ground on New Indiana Manufacturing Facility
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- Wood-Mizer LLC, the world’s leading sawmill manufacturer, broke ground on a new facility located in Batesville, Indiana. The manufacturing plant, scheduled for completion in December 2015, will produce Wood-Mizer’s industry leading product line of portable sawmills, industrial sawmills, and wood processing equipment that is distributed throughout the world.
Designed by Indianapolis-based engineering and architectural firm American Structurepoint, Wood-Mizer’s 77,000-square-foot manufacturing plant will be constructed by the Maxwell Construction Company of Greendale, Indiana. The building will initially consist of 69,000 square feet of manufacturing space with 8,000 square feet of office space and is designed to allow accommodations for future expansions. The building site is located on Enterprise Drive in the Batesville Commerce Park near I-74.
“It was a priority for Wood-Mizer to build our new manufacturing plant in Southeast Indiana, and we are blessed to have the cooperation of the City of Batesville along with expertise from American Structurepoint and Maxwell Construction in order to make that happen,” said Wood-Mizer COO Darryl Floyd. “Our new facility will allow Wood-Mizer to continue to meet the global demand of our products and be a strategic member of the business community.”
The groundbreaking was well-attended by representatives of Wood-Mizer, American Structurepoint, Maxwell Construction Company, and the City of Batesville.
