Woodcraft Announces “The Jory Brigham Experience” Sweepstakes Winner
PARKERSBURG, W. VA. (PRWEB) December 20, 2016 -- Gigi Branch, a high school nurse from San Antonio, Texas, is the Grand Prize winner in the “The Jory Brigham Experience” Sweepstakes sponsored by Woodcraft, Jory Brigham and SawStop. Her name was randomly selected from 24,422 entries received from October 1 through November 30.
As Grand Prize winner, Branch is entitled to participate, along with a companion, in a three-day training class with Jory, a third-generation professional furnituremaker, in his California wine country woodshop. She will also take home the piece of custom furniture made during the class, a SawStop Professional Saw valued at $2,299, and additional tools and accessories valued at over $1,000. The Grand Prize also includes transportation – a flight to and from San Luis Obispo, California, and four nights on-site lodging for Gigi and her companion.
A woodworker who learned the craft at her father’s side, Branch said, “I used to do a lot of stuff with my Dad growing up. I started when I was about 10 or 12 helping. Dad was really good at woodworking. He built a lot of our furniture.”
“I haven’t done a lot of woodworking lately since I moved from a house to an apartment, but I love doing it,” Branch said. “I built some end tables and cabinets in my old house. I also built a huge outdoor table that seated 20 people, but I couldn’t bring it with me when I moved.”
Branch decided to take her free woodworking class in June 2017, when Jory will be teaching end table construction, which interests her. She said her boyfriend will accompany her. Although Branch has checked out Jory Brigham’s classes online and spoken with him by phone, she said, “I have no idea what to expect.” She has never taken a woodworking class, but said she has enjoyed watching HGTV contestants build furniture. “Now I can’t wait until June.”
