Woody Creek Distillers Receives Double Gold in 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
Basalt, Colo. (PRWEB) March 30, 2015 -- Woody Creek Distillers (WCD) earned top honors this past weekend at the 15th annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition, receiving the double gold medal for their Woody Creek Colorado 100% Potato Vodka, including recognition for best vodka.
“We are truly honored to have been awarded double gold for our Woody Creek Colorado 100% Potato Vodka from the nation’s most respected spirits competition,” said Woody Creek Distillers Operating Partner Mark Kleckner. “We work hard to guarantee our potato vodkas and specialty spirits are the finest, and this award is a true testament to our team’s hard work and dedication.”
The Woody Creek Colorado 100% Potato Vodka (MSRP: $32) is a smooth and robust potato-based vodka, made from just farm-fresh alpine potatoes, local mountain spring water, and yeast. After being washed and mashed on-site at the WCD distillery, the potato mash is then stripped and distilled only once to produce its 80-proof vodka. Woody Creek’s potato vodka embodies the Return of Real Vodka to a marketplace saturated with both vodka made from neutral grain spirits (mass-produced ethanol devoid of flavor and character) and a myriad of flavored vodkas.
Woody Creek Distillers also distills and bottles their award-winning Woody Creek Colorado Reserve Vodka (MSRP $89.99) and Woody Creek Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey (MSRP $49.99). All spirits are distilled and hand-bottled on site at Woody Creek Distillers. Woody Creek Distillers’ philosophy is applied to every spirit they distill; to make a spirit of genuine integrity, true to its essence, and unique in taste and character.
