WordenGroup Travel PR in Denver Names Five Favorite Mountain West Fall Events
Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- With summer winding down, travelers are making plans for fall—a time when rates are lower, crowds are fewer, and weather is cooler. The staff at WordenGroup Travel PR, a boutique public relations firm with offices in Denver and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, decided to draw on its knowledge of the Rocky Mountain West and expertise in the travel public relations niche to create a tip sheet of fall events for travelers interested in visiting Colorado and Wyoming this fall. Their fall favorite events include:
Denver, Colorado: 26th Annual Denver Art Museum Friendship Powwow & American Indian Cultural Celebration. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Acoma Plaza (between the Denver Art Museum and Denver Public Library); free admission. One of the Denver Art Museum’s longest-running events, the celebration will feature American Indian dancers, drum groups, artist booths and more. The DAM’s Friendship Powwow is a celebration of the vitality of American Indian cultures.
Throughout the day, visitors can watch colorful dance competitions, participate with artists in hands-on activities and enjoy their first (or 101st!) piece of fry bread. Native Arts Artist-in-Residence Tom Haukaas will be on hand to demonstrate floral beadwork and discuss his process. The outdoor festivities are balanced by the museum’s impressive American Indian art collection on display on levels two and three of the North Building. No admission will be charged for the powwow activities or general museum entry during the events. For more information or a complete program, visit the DAM website here.
Vail, Colorado: Antlers at Vail Flights & Flies, Sept. 1 – Nov. 15, 2015, Antlers at Vail hotel; $324 per person (double occupancy) for two-night lodging and activities package. Guests can catch their limit of big brown trout, wet their whistle with a sampling of some of the best charred oak barrel whiskey currently being produced – and then follow it up with some true R&R in the Vail Valley’s most attentive, amenity-filled accommodations, all during Colorado’s most vibrant season. The Antlers at Vail’s only-in-Colorado “Flights & Flies” lodging-and-lifestyle includes a half-day guided wade trip in prime trout country from the Eagle River to the Roaring Fork with Fly Fishing Outfitters, who will provide flies, waders, boots, rod and reel (guest must purchase Colorado fishing license). Package also includes two vouchers to 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Co.’s tasting room, where each guest will be treated to a flight of five of the distillery’s locally crafted spirits, a souvenir rocks glass and a $5 gift certificate good toward a merchandise purchase.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival and Western Design Conference. Sept. 9-20, 2015, various venues in and around the town of Jackson, Wyo. Thirty-one years ago the very first Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival was created with the intention of extending the area’s tourist season beyond the typical summer months. Growing in popularity, attendance and activities each year since those early days, the festival has become a highly anticipated time for locals and visitors alike – proving the mountain town of Jackson may be small in population, but is big in art, culture, design and cuisine.
This year’s festival includes the Western Design Conference (WDC), Sept. 11-13. In addition to the juried exhibit and sale of one-of-a-kind Western furniture, fashion and accessories, the WDC, held at the Snow King Center in Jackson, includes an Opening Preview Party and runway Fashion Show, as well as a Designer Show House and Retail Row. Three-day passes for the Exhibit + Sale are $15. Additional fall arts festival activities include the popular Palates & Palettes gallery walk Sept. 11, the Taste of the Tetons, Sept. 13 and the QuickDraw in Jackson’s Town Square on Sept. 19. A full schedule of all of the festival’s events can be viewed on the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Arts Festival page at http://www.jacksonholechamber.com/fall_arts_festival/.
Boulder, Colorado: Downtown Boulder Fall Fest. Friday – Sunday, Sept. 18-20, 2015, Pearl Street Mall, Boulder, Colo. Now in its 28th year, the fall fest has become one of Boulder’s most beloved community celebrations. The three-day autumn festival features music performances, a beer garden, local food vendors, a children’s carnival and more on Boulder’s bustling downtown Pearl Street, ringed by the Flatirons.
