Workboat and LSU Executive Education Kick Off Year Two of Strategic Leadership Development Program for the Maritime Industry
BATON ROUGE, LA (PRWEB) July 01, 2015 -- Louisiana State University (LSU) Executive Education and WorkBoat, producers of commercial marine educational conferences, webinars, trade shows, and industry news, have opened enrollment for the 2015-2016 WorkBoat Strategic Leadership Development Program. The Program, now entering a second year of leadership education for individuals in the mid-to upper career levels within marine industry organizations, is designed for managers who are working in technical/functional areas of the organization where an organization-wide point of view will prove helpful in their development; managers who have progressed rapidly within the organization or managers who have been identified as having the capacity for greater responsibilities within the near future; and individuals who desire to sharpen their analytical and decision making skills. The enrollment deadline for this year’s program is September 1, 2015.
“This 12-month certificate program offers unparalleled access to LSU executive coaches and faculty along with thought leaders in the maritime industry,” said Robin Kistler, director of LSU Education at the Stephenson Entrepreneurship at the E.J. Ourso College of Business. “We are proud to collaborate again with the commercial maritime industry and WorkBoat on this program that focuses on the most pressing needs of the commercial marine business community and its most important resource - people.”
Kicking off in October, 2015 with four days of face-to-face group instruction and networking on LSU’s Baton Rouge campus, the program focuses on leadership development, self-development, teamwork, strategic planning, innovation, problem solving, conflict management and communication. Participants will assess their effectiveness, learn to capitalize on their strengths, identify and improve upon their weaknesses, and increase their awareness of the economic, social and legal environments in which their companies operate.
“The Workboat Strategic Leadership Development Program offered me a unique opportunity to network with other maritime professionals and to appreciate individuals who share the passion of advancing our industry beyond the status quo,” remarked Daniel Mirelez, from Textron Systems Marine & Land Systems and participant in the 2014-2015 Program. “The program challenged me to repeatedly assess my professional goals and remain on course through interactive sessions with my personal LSU Business Coach.
WorkBoat and LSU Executive Education have added additional opportunities for face-to-face instruction, online instruction and one-to-one business success coaching to this year’s program, including an extended kickoff event, and complete access to WorkBoat’s leading industry education programs and networking events at the Professional Series Education at the International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans in December, 2015; the spring 2016 OSV Summit in Houston; the WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo in April, 2016 as well as the Professional Series Education and graduation at the International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans in December, 2016.
The cost to attend the 12-month program is $10,650 per student. Applications will be accepted through September 1, 2015. After the deadline date, each applicant will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending upon space availability. The program fee includes tuition, continental breakfasts, lunches, hotel accommodations for four day face to face event in Baton Rouge, all phone and online learning sessions and all education materials, as well as registration and full conference passes to events. The fee is payable in full in advance upon receipt of invoice for registration. WorkBoat and LSU Executive Education reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any program.
