World Lead Mining Industry Investigated in New Market Research Report by Timetric Available at MarketPublishers.com
London, UK (PRWEB) December 22, 2014 -- The total reserves of lead in 2013 were estimated at 88.7 million tonnes worldwide. The lead reserves of the four countries such as Australia, Russia, China and Peru cover 75.3% of the total reserves. In 2012, just over 55% of refined lead production was obtained from scrap battery recycling, whilst close to 45% was from novel mine production. From 2015 to 2017, oncoming projects with combined reserves of 50 million tonnes are projected to begin operations. Meanwhile, the concerns over lead poisoning are on the rise in China, and under the country’s 12th five-year plan (2011–2015), the government has assumed measures to minimise the use of heavy metals by taking stiff action on companies failing to adopt appropriate safety and environmental standards.
China accounted for a share of nearly 55% of the world’s mine production as of 2013, followed by Australia (13%), the USA (6%), Peru (5%), Mexico (4%), and Russia, India and Bolivia (2% each). The other nations where lead is mined comprise of South Africa, Sweden, Poland, Canada and Ireland. China was the leading producer with 3 million tonnes of lead mine production as of 2013. The major producing provinces include Shaanxi, Henan, Yunnan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui, Guangxi Guangdong, Hunan, Gansu and Inner Mongolia.
