World’s First Wireless Induction-Powered Robotic Fish and Aquarium Awarded Guinness World Record

This designer aquarium display has already been awarded a Guinness World Record for “The World’s First Wireless Induction Powered Aquatic Toy." The aquarium is maintenance-free, lifestyle Tech Décor that provides a lively display of dynamic glowing colors with swimming robotic puffer fish to create a soothing atmosphere.
The Capsule is ultra-durable and requires no battery maintenance. Inside the aquarium, the world’s first wireless-powered electronic pet, the LumiPUFF fish, swims and lights up continuously without having any battery. Instead, the fish operates directly through a wireless power transfer from the base of the tank to the fish. Infrared communication channels between the fish and the tank are also used to identify each fish’s unique identity and status inside the tank.
The Capsule also offers a sense of combined virtual and real experience. The LumiPUFF fish reacts to vibrations from tapping on the aquarium and swims away, behaving as a real, live fish would. Both the aquarium and the fish have a variety of colored lighting motions and controls to suit any whimsy or mood. The tank is also light sensitive and will automatically dim to ensure the system won’t be overly bright in low-light environments.
For increased control and interaction with The Capsule, users can connect a smartphone to the aquarium via Bluetooth. Within the phone app, users can create names and profiles for the LumiPUFF fish, remotely control the tank and fish lighting color schemes and access a larger variety of light effects such as static, morphing or flashing lights. Children can even learn responsible pet care through an interactive electronic pet feeding game that directly reflects the status on the fish body. A “mobile notification alert” feature also allows the LumiPUFF to flash when the user’s mobile phone receives a notification.
Based on successful investment thus far, SPHERE Corporation expects to have The Capsule in mass production by May of 2015 and available to the public by June of 2015. However, further funding may speed this process and allow for more growth possibilities. The Capsule will be available for pre-order beginning in January of 2015 at a special offer of $169 for early buyers. The aquarium will later retail for $269.
