Wound Care Advantage Hosts Its First UHMS Approved 40-Hour Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine Course
Sierra Madre, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- Earlier this month Wound Care Advantage (WCA) held the company’s first UHMS approved 40-hour Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine Course. Clinicians from WCA partnering hospitals across the country, met in Anaheim, California for a jam packed weekend of hyperbaric medicine curriculum.
Wound care and hyperbaric medicine education and training is something that is never complete. Even clinicians that have been treating patient wounds for decades must update their knowledge of healing as the industry advances. This is one of the reasons that WCA recently launched its Luvo operating system and Luvo University, an online learning management system.
“We are extremely happy with the turnout for our first WCA 40-Hour HBOT course,” said Melissa Bailey, VP of education and training. “We had attendees from 10 of our partnering wound centers. This shows a tremendous thirst for education among wound care clinicians and physicians for safe, evidence-based wound care and hyperbaric practices.”
The team at Wound Care Advantage believes that when clinicians are up to date on training and education everybody wins. Patients are treated more carefully and efficiently, which has always been the top goal at WCA. Wound care and hyperbaric programs also run better and it is one less outpatient program that hospital executives need to worry about.
“Training and education are foundational to a great wound care and hyperbaric program. We will continue to offer great educational events to service not only our clients, but other programs who need the training,” said Melissa Bailey.
Attendees at the WCA 40-hour Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine course benefited from exclusive insights from team experts including Dr. Gregory Bohn, FACS, FACHM; Randy Brooker, CHT; and Rylan Smith, CFO.
WCA is an innovative service-based wound care company, providing the necessary tools for a well-equipped wound care program. Transitioning wound care management providers can be a complex undertaking. WCA provides transition specialists to guide hospital executives through the entire process, making it as smooth as possible.
Wound Care Advantage is already working on planning for a second course for the Fall, which will be open to the general public. To learn more about the next WCA course, visit http://www.thewca.com/contact to submit a message of interest.
